On Friday the 26th of June, the launching event for the Climate Business Index took place at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Hanoi. On behalf of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the CBI team wishes to extend its thanks to all the event’s attendees, as well as to online participants who watched the event’s live stream.

The primary goal of the event was to officially announce the Climate Business Index (CBI) to the public and encourage enterprises to participate in the CBI. In addition, we hoped to listen to the opinions of a variety of stakeholders on sustainable green business in Viet Nam to prepare further supports to enterprises.

Around 120 participants attended the event, including leaders and representatives from MPI, UNDP, and many businesses such as IKEA, Solar BK, MBI Motors, Aya Cup, Mavin Group, Tundra Fonder, Ernst & Young, and Vietin Bank. The attendees joined business roundtables and discussed topics such as how to build a green business, opportunities and challenges for enterprises in the transformation to sustainable development, and global trends and changes in policy and environment, as well as ways to support green business in Viet Nam.

We believe that our diverse and dynamic group of speakers and panelists provided in-depth insight on sustainable green business including government policies and direction of support, as well as, actionable and practical tools of engagement mechanisms for private sector to become a company that promotes the development of sustainable green processes and products and services.
